Insert the extractor, rotate it a quarter turn and when it's securely in place, just lift off. If removing the heavy cast iron grid from the Big Green Egg while it's still hot, for example to install or retrieve the convEGGtor, is a task you dread, with the Big Green Egg Cast Iron Grid Lifter, the matter is quickly resolved! The plate directly under the handle protects your hand from any hot air.  
  
The Cast Iron Grid Lifter is an extremely practical accessory, designed to easily lift heavy barbecue grids, or put them back in place, without getting your hands dirty. Please note: the extractor cannot be used with the Mini Egg.
